Royal Rumble 2020 - How I'd Book it

Speculation has already swamped the internet about who is going to win this year's Royal Rumble. Daniel Bryan has probably the best odds to win right now given his most recent promo with Paul Heyman.

Daniel Bryan winning the Royal Rumble for the first time in his career to go on to face Roman Reigns for the Smackdown Championship makes all the since in the world. Also, there might not be another opportunity for these two men to collide in this particular context ever again. I mostly believe this is what the WWE is going to go with, and it is one that I think makes all sense right now.
However, if this, for some reason just could not be the option, what other storyline could work for the Royal Rumble?

1. Brock Lesnar entering Number 1 and eliminating everyone single handedly.

I think this could be a noteworthy goal for Brock to try to achieve in his storyline arc. I mean, after all, he has accomplished pretty much everything else in his illustrious career, but being the one man that started at number 1 and single-handedly eliminated every entrant is quite the accomplishment, that only Lesnar could make it seem believable.

In 2019, Mcintyre prevented him from accomplishing that goal and this year, he could try again. However, maybe it is best for him to fail a second time, and only being successful on the third try in 2021. Winning this year, would give us a Lesnar/Mcintyre 2 or Lesnar/Kieth Lee 1 (If Lee wins the title), but I think a Lesnar/Lee feud would be better done if Lee is the one who eliminates Lesnar at the end of the Rumble. Maybe, even have Lesnar eliminate Lee after his elimination leaving Daniel Bryan alone with someone else. But who could that someone else be if Daniel can't win?

2. The Rock

Some are arguing that the Rock will win the Royal Rumble and go onto to face his cousin Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania, but I feel as though the WWE does not want a repeat of what happened when Batista or Roman Reigns won in years passed. You don't want the Rock getting booed out of the arena because the fans once again had their hearts set on Daniel Bryan to win. I believe a Rock and Roman Reigns feud will eventually happen but the Rock doesn't need to win the Royal Rumble to make that happen.

3. The Fiend

Other rumors are that the Fiend is going to return and win the Royal Rumble setting up a feud between him and Mcintyre. Mcintyre, so far, has not had any encounters with Fiend. The Fiend is sort of anti-hero, doing fiendish stuff but still being beloved with WWE Universe which puts Mcintyre in a particular situation. So far Mcintyre has never lost fan loyalty because he has only fought heels that fans do not typically like, but what happens when you put him up against a nightmare that could also cause Mcintyre to turn heel?

Having the Fiend defeat Mcintyre could cause Mcintyre to turn back to his previous persona like it has done to many competitors in the past. Having Mcintyre change, could leave Mcintyre and Sheamus back to forming a heel group. Fiend and Mcintyre could happen but it could come about from the Fiend winning the elimination chamber again.

4.  Braun Strowman

It seems fitting for someone like Braun Strowman to just come in and win the Royal Rumble out of nowhere and then go onto challenge Drew Mcintyre. Strowman could play the perfect heel to Mcintyre. The Scottish Warrior verses the Monster Among Men, it already sounds like Scottish Fable. It also seems that nobody is thinking about Braun Strowman right now, so he would definitely offer that unexpected victor feeling.

The Women's Royal Rumble.

This year's royal rumble for the women also has its rumored winners. Many people believe it will be Becky Lynch to come back and challenge Asuka for the women's title because, after all, that is who she had to forfeit the title to after MITB. So, this makes all this sense in the world to have someone come back to challenge the same person that they lost the title to but was never defeated by.
However, if it wasn't Becky Lynch then who?/

1. Bianca Belair

Some say that Bianca Belair will actually win the female's Royal Rumble this year and go on to face Sasha Banks. If this happens, I could easily see the crowds turning on Sasha Banks, because Banks comes off heelish mostly even as a face; but, Belair is fresh, new, funny and definitely has more likability with the crowds. Having Banks turn heel would definitely be the way to go.

2. Ronda Rousey

Another candidate to win the women's Royal Rumble is Ronda Rousey. She definitely could be a surprise entrant into the Rumble but having her win might get her booed out of the arena and she would definitely be the heel against either Banks or Asuka, unless Carmella somehow beats Banks. A Carmella/Rousey would be a good feud with or without a championship on the line.

3. Charlotte Flair

Could she really pull a Shawn Michaels and win it 2 years in a row? She definitely would be the type to perform something like this. Last Year when she won, she challenged for the NXT Women's championship so it could be argued that this year she wants the Raw or Smackdown gold. However, we have seen her feud with Asuka and Banks many times and maybe we just don't need to see these feuds re-ignite.
