The question people are wondering is will Rollins come back as a heel or a face? And, if he comes back as a heel will it still be as the Messiah or something evolved from that? If he comes back as a face, will he challenge his former shield brethren Roman Reigns for the title?
This could all depend on the fan's reactions; but I think the WWE has a real opportunity to continue the Messiah story arc in a fresh new direction. (more than likely they will squander it)
Having him play a face right now opposite to heel Reigns, I think is a bad choice. In fact, I think keeping Reigns and Rollins separated for now is the best thing. However, I do think eventually Rollins and Reigns will cross paths with Rollins being the face, but I don't think we are there just yet.
I think Rollins should return with the Messiah Character and explain his actions at the Survivor Series when he made himself the sacrificial lamb by letting Shaemus kick his head off.
Some could say this action lead to the complete failure of team Smackdown to beat team Raw. But why intentionally eliminate yourself and put your brand at risk? for the greater good? How does that action serve the greater good?
Well, that action indirectly caused the conflict between Owens and Reigns after Jey Uso felt he had to teach everyone of his team members a lesson in respect. Both of these men have a history with Rollins so it seems to follow. Was the greater good to cause a conflict between Reigns and Owens? But why would Rollins want to do that? Well because Rollins may still blame Owens for his loss at last year's Survivor Series and ultimately his downfall down the card. Rollins may also hold resentment toward Reigns for being champion now and beating the man he could not, in the likes of the fiend.
I think Rollins should appear on Raw to reveal why he did what he did at Survivor Series and it puts him in a Wrestlemania conflict with Aleister Black. Even with Aleister Black currently being a heel, it would still work and be an interesting match for Mania because it already has build; it just needs a payoff.
